Deceitfully Hard-looking Caramel Popcorn

1 cube butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. baking soda

1 measurement-full of popcorn (fill to the line of your popcorn-maker's cup)

Pop corn in popcorn maker, pour in brown paper bag (the kind you get at the grocery store). In a separate bowl, add butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup. Cook for 3 minutes in the microwave. Add baking soda, stir, and cook for another 30 seconds. Pour over popcorn in bag and shake (you might need to also stir a little bit). Lay out on cookie sheet to cool - EAT EAT EAT! :)

Price Guesstimate: $1?

Steph's Comments: I know I should probably put this recipe on the blog in the winter time, but I've been in charge of making desserts a lot lately for different functions, and since money's a little tight, I've been making this... well, it has been a hit even in the summer! :) So, I thought I should put it on - oh! it is fantastic! I got this recipe from my neighbor, Margee, and she got it from our neighbor, Paula. It's so easy, but it looks like it was that tricky caramel popcorn where you have to use a candy thermometer and stuff - I love it.
