1 c. Warm Water
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 T. oil
Seasoning of Choice (opt.)
2-3 c. flour
Preheat oven to 375. Dissolve yeast and water; add sugar, salt, oil, and flour. (Add flour in gradually - and make sure to mix thoroughly so it doesn't get clumpy.) If desired, sprinkle in seasoning of choice. I like Italian Seasoning when I'm doing a tomato-based pizza, I like some sort of bbq seasoning when I'm doing a bbq pizza, etc. etc. It's fun to play around with this. Place in a greased (I spray with Pam) bowl and set on warming oven; let stand until doubles in size - usually about 40 min. Grease the bottom of the pan and shape. Especially good when cooked on a baking stone! Makes one thick crust, or I once-and-a-half it to make two thin crusts. Cook for 15-17 minjutes. Top with pizza toppings of choice.
Steph's Comments: I got this recipe from a neighborhood recipe book years ago, and I have been using it ever since. I like it because from start to finish I can have my pizza done in about an hour. And it certainly is cheaper than buying a pre-made crust from the store!!!
